Lynn boasts a distinguished career in marketing and brand management, having worked with iconic brands such as Ford, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, and Harley-Davidson. Her most significant accomplishment in the marketing space was at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, where she led the landmark integration initiative, “Urban Restylin.” This project involved customizing a basic soft tail, stripping it down in front of a live audience at the DC Auto Show, and completely tricking it out. The initiative garnered powersports, lifestyle, and urban national press, toured the US for a year, and was part of a featured custom motorcycle exhibit at the 2008 grand opening of the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI. Her innovative strategies and leadership have consistently driven growth and market expansion.
Academic and Teaching Career
Transitioning from industry to academia, Lynn discovered her true calling in education. Her teaching career began unexpectedly when she filled in as a middle school teacher, which ignited a passion for guiding and inspiring students. Lynn has since become a lead faculty member at Strayer University, where she is known for making learning engaging and transformative. Advised by a high school guidance counselor that she should settle for roles that didn’t require a degree, Lynn initially worked as a secretary. Encouraged by a supportive VP who saw her potential, she pursued higher education while working full-time, eventually graduating Magna Cum Laude and delivering the commencement speech.
Her personal journey includes overcoming a challenging divorce and restarting her career, which led her to teaching—a role that fuels her existence. Lynn’s resilience is further exemplified by her dedication to mentoring at-risk teen girls and domestic violence survivors. Her passion for animal rescue, inspired by her rescue dog, Newman, is captured in her children’s book series, The Newman Tales.
