Quote of the Month – Gratitude, Dream, Attract

“Gratefulness inspires the dreams that attract your heart’s desires.”

Lynn F. Austin

Today I was reminded of the power of gratitude and its connection to our heart’s desires. I sometimes have to battle pride and ego in my walk as a Christian, and the negative energy they create, particularly when I sense (or my interpretation of) being taken for granted, not treated with respect, left out of matters that impact me, etc. First off, note that I did say my interpretation of… but anyway…. I haven’t mastered how I “feel” in those moments but I am beginning to understand the need to recognize it and repurpose the energy associated with the feeling.

The way I look at it, I can address it or not and certainly may not be able to influence change in another person, but there are definitely things I can do for myself to change the energy that flows to and from me. Here are three techniques that I have learned to use: 1) recognize and acknowledge the energy, the feeling, the hurt, and also that it could be laced with an ego or pride-infused interpretation 2) I pray three scriptures:

  • Proverbs 18:16 so that I am reminded that “God’s put a gift inside me that the world will make room for” so that I fulfill the desires of my heart according to His will;
  • Psalm 1:3 so that I embrace that “like a tree planted by a stream, I will prosper (bring forth my fruit) in my season; and
  • Deuteronomy 30:9 so that I fully understand that God “will make me prosperous in the works of my hands”

…and last but not least 3) exercise or go for a brisk walk so that generating physical energy disrupts any “stinking-thinking” allowing me to reset, give thanks, generate and receive positive energy.

Regardless of what I encounter, my response is the only thing I truly have power (choice) over.

With gratitude in my heart, I release thanks to all and make room for and welcome in the energy of possibilities, promise, hope, and opportunity.

Respectfully,

Lynn
